Do your friends say you’re funny?
Are you interested in learning improvisation?
Have we got good news for you!
Oldcastle Theatre is looking to develop an improv company that would perform 45 minute shows after the schedule plays during the summer season.
We are offering our first ever improv class starting in July.
This 3 hour class will meet on Monday nights from 7 – 10 pm for 4 weeks, at a one time only introductory price of $120
Instructor Christine Decker (in photos above) has an extensive background in performing and teaching improvisation. She was a member of the Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis, MN before performing at the Comedy Workshop of Walt Disney World’s Pleasure Island for 19 years. There she performed with such people as Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Hope, Robin Williams, and Raul Julia.
“Improvisation is as exciting to the audience as it is to the actors because they get to see their ideas made larger than life,” says Decker
Students will learn the principles of improvisation such as: Say ” Yes and”; be in the moment; who, what and where and work as a team. Classes will involve game-playing, storytelling and physical interaction.
Classes begin on July 10 with the final class on July 31.
